From the ashes to glory ! Yamaha Vstar 650 Bobber
”In order to rise from its own ashes a Phoenix first must burn”
and that’s exactly what happen here ! I picked up this 2003 Vstar 650 that had met her unfortunate demise when in a small accident the fuel leaked from the tank and a spark took care of the rest.
The bike was on fire just for a minute before someone with a fire extinguisher put it off but that minute was enough to burn it.
Now I’m to the task of restoring this fallen beast and just as the Phoenix rose from the ashes, she too will rise. Returning from the flames, more beautiful than ever before!

Well, as you all can see in the pictures I’m to the task of doing a miracle in this one lol :)
I will be needing a lot of parts! Fortunately for me I’ve been collecting (or as my wife describes it) “hoarding” parts from previous projects and I think I have about 90% of what’s needed to get this baby going.
I posted the pictures in a motorcycle forum and a big majority agreed that it was better to just called dead and leave it there - but Motorcycles are my passion and reviving them gives me great joy so I can’t let this one go by.
From all the negativity a got about the project I also got a couple of good ideas -
-keep track of the hours I will spend in the project
-keep track of how much I spend
Keeping track of the expenditures is something I do for all my projects but I’m not so good at doing so with my time
so, for this one I’m adding an extra line to the spread sheet I use for expenditures to keep track of the hours I’ll work on this project.
